My piece today for MS NOW reviews Jon Stewart’s smart “Daily Show” set last night and Jimmy Kimmel’s surrealist dig at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner (for a recap of that see my earlier piece from Saturday).
This is one of those weeks in which controversies about comedy and comedians are atop the news cycle. That’s been happening a lot in the MAGA era—have y’all noticed that? Comedy is, like, at the epicenter of fevered First Amendment debates. I’ve been trying to explain why that is.
